·         Work experience is rated on the basis of the number of years spent in a professional role, distinguished as general and senior roles in brackets of 10+ years: 50 points, 5+ years: 40 points, and 2+ years: 10 points.

·         Language proficiency in both English and Chinese is given 20 points, while that in Chinese or English in combination with a foreign language is awarded 15 points and proficiency in either of the two languages is awarded 10 points.

·         Family background is judged as: 5 points for having an immediate family member as a permanent resident, 5 points for each child accompanying (maximum 2), 5 points for accompanying educated spouse with a degree.
